Jonathan Painter (Non- Executive advisor)

Early in his graduate life, Jon had a strong interest in the stock market and using computer models to analyse and trade market movements, put several paper theories together and saw them through using paper trading.

During his first job with GPT (Marconi Communciations) he continued developement and maturation of his market models until the point where they were ready to be traded. At this point, Jon opened his first trading accounts and began trading around his job with varying success, tweaking his models and trading techniques to gain long term consistency. Jon is no stranger to the "school of hard knocks" and has had many setbacks in the ensuing years as he learned the realities of systematic trading until he started to gain consistent success. It was at this point that Jon met Paul and realising that they could gain greater success by joining forces decide to trade together on a more professional level, naturally there was great interest in how someone who used to work as a software engineer could learn to become a financial market trader and thus RT3 Education was born.

In order to gain more experience in the financial world, Jon joined some best known finance firms, including Bloomberg, Lehman Brothers and Nomura, allowing him to gain a better understanding of trading, finance and the markets. Jon joined Bloomberg in 2004. He looked into exchange relations, market data analysis and Fx Options pricing and strategies while working for Bloomberg.
